Beer Bratwurst Bites

BBQ sauce

Preparation

  1. Cut each sausage into 0.5 cm thick slices, but not all the way through. After every third cut, you can cut it all the way through to separate the pieces.
  2. Heat some oil in a frying pan over a medium to high heat and fry the sausage pieces until golden brown all over.
  3. Put the beer and brown sugar in a small saucepan, bring to the boil and then reduce over a low heat for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. Mix the cornstarch with a little cold water to form a smooth mixture. Add this to the glaze together with the Dijon mustard and BBQ sauce and stir well.
  5. Add the fried sausage pieces to the sauce and turn them until they are evenly glazed.
  6. For a crispier texture, spread the sausage pieces on a baking tray and roast in a preheated oven at 180 °C for approx. 15 minutes. Then drizzle with the remaining glaze.
  7. Serve hot - ideal with chips and some fresh parsley as a topping.
