
Planted Chicken now available in all Swiss Subway restaurants
Zurich, Switzerland, October 1, 2025. What began as a social media comment has now turned into a nationwide product launch – Subway delivered on its promise: together with Planted, the market leader in plant-based meat, they are bringing the Planted Teriyaki Sandwich to all Subway restaurants across Switzerland. With this partnership, Subway continues its Swissness strategy, placing its trust in a local producers known for a clean ingredient list, sustainability, and outstanding taste. The result: a sandwich that unites enjoyment with environmental responsibility and marks the beginning of a series of further planned product launches.
The initial spark for this collaboration came last spring, when Planted and the entire alternative protein category made headlines following a Federal Supreme Court ruling on the use of animal names for plant-based meat products.
In response to a related social media post, Subway Switzerland joined the conversation with a wink: “If this post gets 10 likes, we’ll order the ‘not-call-it-chicken-anymore’ for Subway.”
Those ten likes quickly became hundreds, and what started as a humorous social media exchange has now become reality: From October 1, 2025, Subway Switzerland will be serving the new Planted Teriyaki Sandwich in all its restaurants. This launch represents more than a single product, it’s the starting point for a series of planned collaborations with Planted.
Swissness meets innovation
With the introduction of Planted meat, Subway Switzerland is strengthening its Swissness strategy and collaboration with local producers.

Plant-based, sustainable, irresistible
The new sandwich combines tender planted.chicken in the popular Teriyaki style with crunchy vegetables and freshly baked bread, a treat that balances environmental, health, and taste considerations alike.

The planted.chicken Teriyaki Sandwich will be available in all Subway locations in Switzerland starting October 1, 2025. In addition, every Saturday the sandwich will be featured as the Sub of the Day for just CHF 6.90.
